FLOOD!

We've only begun to assess the weekend flood damage, and won't have a full picture for some days or even a couple of weeks.  That said, we are fairly sure that we have lost a number of important fall crops, primarily those in the cabbage family.  Our early guess is that all of our broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, chard, kale, kohlrabi, daikon, and turnips are a complete loss.  Easter Island, the field where they were planted, was inundated with water depths of 1.5 to 5 feet.  Other crops in our Tower Field fared better, with some affect from flooding, but no total crop loss.  As we learn more about what might be salvageable, we will keep you posted.  Despite the grim news, ICF fared better than most of the other Intervale farms, let alone farmers in Pakistan!
