Winter Share Group 1 Begins Thursday 11/18

Although the weather is wonderfully balmy, the 2010-2011 ICF Winter Share begins (for Group 1) this Thursday from 3 - 6 pm.  We are looking forward to filling your bellies with delicious root vegetables, squash, cabbage, and even some greens.  Each winter we are amazed by the excitement members express when they arrive to load up bags full of glistening winter vegetables.  The sweet flavors of squash, carrots, and beets carry the sugars stored by the plants during long summer growing days; the plants convert the sun's rays into carbohydrates which sustain us through the dark winter months.  All we do as farmers is usher the plants through the season, our awe never lessening at their ability to convert sunlight into solid food for our bellies.

The ICF Winter Share schedule is posted on our Calendar.  Please note that Group 2 has a pick-up Wednesday, November 24 because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Group 2 will follow an every other week Thursday pick-up schedule beginning Thursday, December 9.
